Prayer Request:

  • Paula Sutcliffe: Please be praying for Paula Sutcliffe. She checked in to an in-patient rehab center on 12/04/2022. Please pray that the doctors and staff there can help her regain some of her mobility and lessen the pain.   • Phillipa Faber: Please pray for my sister Theodora Faux. She has been diagnosed with stage four cancer.

Upcoming Meetings:

  • LEADERS' MEETINGS and WORKSHOPS for 2023: ALL Leaders whether family group, HOPE, Worship or other, please join us Saturday, January 7th from 9:00am to 12:00pm in the sanctuary as we share the theme for 2023 Faith, Hope and Love and how we have incorporated your input from the October 1st leaders' workshop. There will also be an introduction to the training material we will be using going forward to build and strengthen family groups. We ask you to invite others in your family group who you may be raising up or training to join us.

Church Announcements

  • 2022 Missions: Brothers and Sisters! As know our you, your continual support, contribution goal for 2022 that ends on December 31st is 120,000.00. This goes to support ministries in Boone, NC as well as ministries in 6 East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi. Let's rally together as a church and send our gift of love. Be sure to give your contribution online at thecharlottechurch.org or send your check to: The Charlotte Church 1800 Camden Road, Suite 107-275 Charlotte, NC 28203. To be counted towards 2022 missions all checks must be post marked by December 31, 2022. Thank you for your continual support for our brothers and sisters in East Africa and Boone.
  • Christmas Eve Candlelight Service: Invite your friends and family and join us for worship on Saturday, December 24 from 6:30-7:45pm. If needed, there will be playrooms available for parents to use with your children 5 & under. The service will be showing in these rooms. All other children will be in service with their families. This time together will be in place of any formal gathering or family group worship on Sunday December 25. Of course, if you want to gather with others on Sunday morning, Amen! We look forward to a meaningful time of celebrating our Lord's arrival on Christmas Eve.
  • Multi-Generational Tea Party: "I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also." 2Timothy 1:5. multi-generational relationships are vital to learning to navigate life! We all have stories from our older (and younger) relatives and friends that helped shape our lives. The Garden Tea Party is an opportunity to get together with our daughters, sisters, neighbors and friends, of all ages and stages, to sit together over a cup of tea (and a few treats and sweets!), to share some of those stories, learn from each other, maybe take home a garden tip or two, as well as some seed packets and a special little gift!

Children's Ministry:

  • Teachers Needed: Children's Ministry is looking for you to join us as we introduce our children to the wonder, beauty, and majesty of God through the scriptures in a loving and safe environment. Please click the link to sign up to teach for the February-July rotation!

Y&F:

  • New Year's Eve Lock In: The Y&F ministry we will be hosting a New Year's Eve lock in for all the teens in high school. The event starts at 7 PM on Saturday, December 31 and will be at the church building. The cost is $25 and registration is open. Registration deadline: Sunday, December 18. HOPE:

HOPE ww Charlotte would like to wish the members of the Charlotte Church and friends Happy Holidays and ask you to please save the following dates.

  • Our 2023 MLk Day of Service will take place on Sat January 14th from 9AM -1PM @ the Charlotte Church. There will be a program to honor Dr. King followed up with an opportunity to work on several hands-on service projects. These service projects will provide relief for many of our neighbors that are in need.
  • Bridges Out of Poverty workshop will be held on Sat Jan 28th from 9AM - Noon @ the Charlotte Church. If you have a passion for learning how serve and help people who are currently living in poverty then this workshop is for you. The workshop will be interactive and filled with activities to help make the information that will be shared adaptable and concrete.
  • HOPE world wide Community Suppers. In honor of Dr. King during the month of January we are asking all of our members and friends to consider hosting a meal in your home where you intentionally invite people who are different from you to break bread with you. The purpose for this activity is to help us all to become intentional at building relationship with people from all walks of life.
  • HOPE ww Charlotte 2022 Coats, Hats, Scarves, Sock Drive: Please consider donating items for this year's drive. We are looking for new or gently used items for adults and children. We will be collecting through Sunday Dec 18th. Please place your donations in the bins which will be located in the main lobby of the Charlotte Church. All items collected will be donated to Crisis Assistance Ministry Free Store. If you have questions, please contact Mike Dames. mikedames@prodigy.net

MMOG Ministries:

  • SCM Christmas Toy & Clothing Drive for 12/17/2022: We are gearing up to have a special Gifting Day for the moms & their Children of the Freedom Community Outreach housing, the Moms Moving Forward program & our Ashley Park area community
    • Boys, Girls (all ages): Toys, Bikes, Books, Games, Shoes & Clothing

  • Talent Show: Church Family- We Need Your Help!!!! Please go to the following link- We've Got Talent and sign up to participate in the Talent Show/Fundraiser. All proceeds minus cost and prizes will go to the MMOG Ministries to support their efforts. You may sign up to sing, juggle, play an instrument, artwork,etc., you may also volunteer to help with set-up,collect tickets, or volunteer to donate needed prizes for participants.
