Care & Compassion:

  • Senior Fellowship Dinner: As the Senior Agape Coordinator of the Care and Compassion Ministry, I would like to thank all the “Silver Fox Seniors,” that came out to the Pasta Fellowship Appreciation Dinner last Saturday, we had wonderful time. We ate, danced, sang and played games. It truly was great evening of fun and fellowship and a wonderful time was had by all. A special thank you to all the volunteers that helped to serve, Michelle Jones for being my right-hand assistant and catering her Simply Extraordinary cupcakes, and last but not least the Bright Family for their support. As the Senior Agape Coordinator, I look forward to hosting future events to serve our church community, Stephanie Dixon

HOPE:

  • Thank you:  Special thanks to all of the volunteers and blood donors that made our February Blood Drive a success. Because of you Red Cross was able to collect 34 pints of blood. 102 lives will be impacted as a result of your sacrifice. Mark your calendars. Our next drive will be held on August 12, 2023.
  • Volunteers Needed: We are in need of volunteers to serve and have our first with our neighbors in Concord NC who utilize services from Opportunity House on Thursday March 23, 2023 (6PM-8PM). Opportunity House is a unique day shelter that focuses on meeting the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of people experiencing homelessness in Cabarrus County. Please Contact Mike Dames @ 704-724-2362 or mikedames@prodigy.net to reserve your spot.
  • HOPE Charlotte: Our HOPE outdoor event that is scheduled for April 23, 2023 will be changed to September 17, 2023. This change is due to a slowdown in the construction of the facility at Frank Liske Park. Details to come later in the summer. Thank you for your understanding and support.
  • HOPE ww Community Suppers: In honor of Dr. King, in 2023 each month, we are asking all of our members and friends to consider hosting a meal in your home where you intentionally invite people who are different from you to break bread with you. The purpose for this activity is to help us all to become intentional at practicing radical hospitality and building relationships with people from all walks of life. Please click here for ideas on how you can achieve this.
  • Please contact Mike Dames if you have questions or ideas at mikedames@prodigy.net (704)763-5733.
