Volunteer Corps - Kathmandu, Nepal 2 December 21, 2022 - January 4, 2023
Two weeks “on top of the world,” serving the HOPEww school and vocational training center in Week 1 and the new Center of HOPE in Chaimale in Week 2, a program started in a village two hours outside of Kathmandu after the 2015 earthquake. You will teach elementary school children, help renovate and beautify the Kathmandu school and the Chaimale Center of HOPE, run computer classes for young people, reach out to the community, teach health and hygiene lessons, and train the villagers in the use of water filters. All of that while spending Christmas and New Year with the community and the Kathmandu church!
AUDIENCE: All-generations program. Family friendly. Minimum age of 17 for US volunteers, and 15 for non-U.S. volunteers. U.S. volunteers aged 15 and 16 will need a chaperone who is over the age of 21. Anyone below the age of 15 will need a parent to accompany them. Any skills welcome, but educators and medical professionals especially needed.
